George
Snider started drag racing at fifteen and graduated through jalopies
and stock cars to winning the 1971 USAC Silver Crown championship and
1981 - 82 USAC Champ Car championship. He had twenty two starts
in the Indy 500, often driving for A.J. Foyt. In retirement, he runs a
couple of sprint car teams and is recognized by the annual "George
Snider Classic" sprint car race at Kevin Harvick's Kern County Raceway.
He is in the West Coast Stock Car Motorsports Hall of Fame and the Bob
Elias Kern County Sports Hall of Fame.
