Rosie Roussel (1923 - 2007) graduated from Kern County Union High School and served in World War II.  He earned track championships at Bakersfield Speedway and in the Central Valley Racing Association, crewed at the Indy 500 and managed both Bakersfield Speedway and Saugus Speedway in the 1960's and '70's. Retiring from racing, he joined the Western Racing Association, exhibiting a Riley Roadster that he restored.
